The Office of Career Services offers NMHU students a variety of programs and services to help them identify, strategize and achieve their career aspirations. Services include career guidance and planning, experience-based education programs, career fairs, on-campus interviews, resume development, interviewing skills, and job search strategies.
Your career doesn't start when you leave school -- you can begin exploring your options and planning your future now. Use the Career Services website to explore your options, from determining your interests and deciding on a major to finding jobs related to your field. CHOICES, a computerized career guidance system, is readily available to help students with career inventories and occupational exploration. This system will help students to learn more about their interests, skills, and work values - all which are important considerations in deciding on a major and career. Additionally, students can explore careers related to their majors and gain insight in planning how to maximize their college education to best prepare for their choosen career fields.
Career Services has cooperative education & internship programs that links employers who wish to recruit university students for experience based learning. These programs give students meaningful work experiences relevant to their academic majors and the opportunity to "test drive" their career interests before graduation. These programs offer employers early access to train top candidates that may lead to full-time positions upon graduation.
Graduating students and alumni can apply for professional jobs by participating in on-campus recruitng by employers, attending career fairs, and applying to jobs posted on this webpage and in the Career Services Office. Assistance with job search skills, resume development, and mock interviewing is available to all current NMHU students.
