Community Comments-Goal 2

1. Strategic Goal II:  Stimulating ______?__________, Objective II.B.  safe and secure –
• a. Open up the discussion regarding campus security to include community/student insights regarding safety and armed officers.
2. Strategic Goal II:  Objective II.A. - ______?_____________Hispanic, International and Native American Traditions.
• a. Action Step:   support disciplines/programs that specifically focus on Native American/Hispanic and International Cultures.
3. Again……sustainability studies promotes a stimulating learning environment that connects students with their environ/campus and therefore develops respect – interdisciplinary – promotes respect between disciplines.
4. Objective II.A.  – This statements __?_____ out after cultures we have on campus/off sites .  We need to make sure everyone is included.
5. Need to promote:
• a. Environmental compliance with regulations – Federal and State
• b. Promote Sustainability – safety also extends from NMHU to the community OSHA”Community right to know” Regulations.
6. Strategic Goal II:  Objective II.A, Action: II.A.9. – faculty are not trained as counselors – term should perhaps be “advising”.
7. Like that we are including the internal student body. Believe they really influence the living and learning environment.
8. Strategic Goal II:  Objective II.A. – strong ties Hispanic/Latin American and International.
• a. Action step – support strategies for student research and ___?____ with regional Hispanic/Native American/International cultural agencies.
