STUDIES AND RESULTS:
Synthesis of materials for PDT. We considered two ways of N-alkylation of 3,5-bis(arylidene)-4-piperidone that included direct alkylation of the preformed skeleton (Scheme 1) of 3,5-bis(arylidene)-4-piperidones or by the condensation of N-alkyl-4-piperidones with substituted aromatic aldehydes in the presence of acid or base (Scheme 2). It was shown that first way gives better results for long-chain alkyl substituents and for materials with phosphororganis substituents, while for compounds with small alkyl substituents (Me, Et) second synthetic route gives better results.
