In the course of conducting university research, faculty, staff, students, and visitors may create or invent intellectual property (IP), which will need to be protected by patents, licensing, copyrights, or other means. It is the purpose of this policy to encourage, support, and reward research and scholarship, and to recognize the rights and interests of all involved, including the public. This policy applies to all university faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
