Leon Bustos
My name is Leon Bustos and I am part of the new student qrientation team! I have been living in Las Vegas, N.M., for the majority of my life and the experiences that I have undergone will travel with me for the rest of my life. I am currently a junior, pursuing my undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in biology. New Mexico Highlands University has offered me a lot of opportunities, not only with my education, but also by helping me become a stronger individual. I feel that the least that I can do for the university is to give back by offering valuable information to our incoming freshman, while also giving them a comfortable welcome to our university.

I am from the great city of Houston, Texas. I grew up with a good loving family. My mother, father, brother and sister all played huge roles in who I am today. I went to Westbury High School. I ended up coming to New Mexico Highlands University to play basketball and the school itself turned out to be a great experience for me. Currently, I am a junior majoring in biology. I wanted to be a part of this orientation staff because I want to help our school. It’s fun being able to help incoming students and show them why Highlands University is so great.
