Do you enjoy protecting or helping others? Do you inspire trust and respect and confidence from your friends? A career in criminal justice might be what you’re looking for.
People in the criminal justice field work in various aspects of law enforcement such as treatment specialist, probation officers, or police officers just to name a few. According to the Department of Labor, the job out look for people in the criminal justice field is projected to grow faster than average at a rate of about 19 percent. The average salary range can be expected to be between $35,000 and $60,000 per year. Most of these jobs will be government-related jobs, although a growing portion of them will be in the private sector.
A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice studies provides an excellent foundation for students interested in working within the criminal and juvenile justice systems. In addition, it offers a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing a law degree or a master’s degree in public administration or related field. The criminal justice system is quite broad, and professionals, regardless of their specialization, must integrate information from a variety of academic disciplines. The program is designed with this objective in mind.
