Health Promotion and Wellness | Health Education | Pre-professional Allied Health | Pre-Professional Athletic Training

The health major has four tracks. All tracks help students who earn a bachelor's degree prepare for advanced training in graduate school.
Student must take: Math 120, Math 140, Math 150, or the equivalent of algebra and trigonometry in high school and PE 100 (Fit for Life) to qualify for the major in health.
Concentrations
Health Education
Health education professionals are available to educate the public on the various concerns about one’s personal health. Health education professionals can be employed in a variety of work settings such as schools, community health agencies, medical care organizations, and business and industry, as well as private practice. The health education track is designed to prepare the health science teacher. (Read more)
Health Promotion and Wellness
Health promotion professionals are available to assess health problems, identify health needs and risk factors, plan and implement health promotion programs, and carry out evaluation procedures to determine the effectiveness of these efforts. Health promotion professionals can be employed in a variety of work settings such as community health agencies, medical care organizations, and business and industry, as well as private practice. The health promotion and wellness track is designed to prepare students interested in health careers with commercial, corporate, community, or government health/fitness/wellness programs. (Read more)
Pre-Professional Allied Health
The pre-professional Allied Health track is designed to prepare students for professional school in allopathic, osteopathic, chiropractic, podiatric, naturopathic, veterinary medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, nursing, physical therapy, or similar health-related areas. (Read more)

Pre-Professional Athletic Training
This undergraduate program is designed to teach students the competencies for national certification as an athletic trainer (ATC). (Read more)

Health
