Mainstream clinical approaches to the understanding and treatment of grief have changed greatly since the culture shift of Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. Yet native and indigenous beliefs and practices are seldom considered in the discussion. Updated practices, cultural beliefs and the differing ideas about continuing bonds with the deceased are just three of the rich topics covered in this workshop. The presenters are licensed clinicians who come from differing cultural backgrounds. Both have suffered the loss of close family members.
