Española Social Work Program
New Mexico Highlands’ bachelor of social work degree program in Española
prepares students for entry-level generalist social work practice and trains
students to work sensitively and competently with the diverse multicultural
populations of New Mexico and the Southwest. Our program was developed with
the working student in mind and is geared to accommodate both traditional
and nontraditional students. All classes are offered on Fridays and
Saturdays at the Northern New Mexico College Campus. This flexible class
schedule affords students the opportunity to attend on a full-or part-time
basis.
The university maintains progressive and positive working relationships with
numerous social service organizations throughout Northern New Mexico, thus
providing the student with a wide array of internship opportunities.
Upon completion of the BSW program, eligible students may choose to pursue the advanced standing one-year MSW program offered at the main campus in Las Vegas, NM or pursue the two-year MSW program at any of the school’s program locations.
