Bill Taylor, dean of the School of Business since 2005, is now Highlands University’s vice president for finance and administration.
“Highlands is in good financial shape and we want to stay that way,” Taylor said.
Taylor earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of New Mexico and a master’s in public policy from the University of Chicago. He teaches economics at Highlands.
Taylor is fluent in Spanish and French. He has served as a financial adviser to governments in Africa and the Middle East.
Taylor’s maternal family roots in New Mexico date to the 1600s. His ancestor, Alonso Garcia de Noriega, was born circa 1627 in Mexico and settled in present day Albuquerque. He was a high-ranking military officer who led 1,200 settlers to safety during the 1680 Pueblo Revolt.
