2008 Homecoming schedule:

Monday, September

8 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Absentee Voting (Campus Life Office)

11:00 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Sashing BBQ -Melody Park (Ballroom, rain location) Come meet the candidates for Homecoming Royalty

All day – Door Decorating Contest begins(Campus Wide) – Decorate your offices/doors and submit your entry to this office indicating your interest in being judged. Judging will take place on Friday, September 25 and the winner will be announced at halftime.

Tuesday, September 22

Wednesday, September 23

11:00 a.m.– Painting of the “H”
(Meet in front of the Student Center at 10:45 am and a caravan will proceed to the H.)

Thursday, September 24

5 p.m. – H Club Banquet, Student Center Ballroom

7 p.m. – Homecoming Pageant, Ilfeld Auditorium

Friday, September 25

8:00 – 9:30 a.m. – President’s Coffee, location 1325- 5th Street

9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Royalty Voting (Senate Chambers, must present valid HU ID)
Door Decorating Contest Judging

11 a.m. – Class of 1959 Luncheon, Plaza Hotel

11:30 a.m. – Foundation’s Annual Donor Luncheon, Kennedy Alumni Hall by special invitation

5:00 p.m –Distinguished Alumni Banquet at the Plaza Hotel on the Old Town Plaza - purchase tickets through Alumni Office.*

Saturday, September 26,

8:00 a.m. – Alumni Golf Tournament at the Gene Torres Golf Course*

10:00 a.m. – Class of 1959 brunch at the Plaza Hotel on the Old Town Plaza - by special invitation*

2:00 p.m. – Traditional homecoming parade – Lineup will begin by OLOS Church/Courthouse at 12 noon. Winners will be announced at halftime.

4:00 p.m. – Tailgating – Beginning at in the music building parking lot. First come-first served (no tables/chairs will be provided.)

6:00 pm – Game – NMHU V. Adams State – – Perkins Stadium – Ticket prices: Adults - $7; 12 and under $3; NMHU faculty/staff/students with valid HU ID – FREE)

11:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. – Club HU – Homecoming Dance – Student Center Atrium – Must have valid HU ID.
