Homecoming 09 Dates

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Absentee Voting (Campus Life Office)

11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Sashing BBQ -Melody Park (Ballroom, rain location) Come meet the candidates for Homecoming Royalty.

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m – Recycling Relay- tumbling towers/ construction of recycled Material Mural -Melody Park.

All day – Door Decorating Contest begins(Campus Wide) – Decorate your offices/doors and submit your entry to this office indicating your interest in being judged. Judging will take place on Friday, September 25 and the winner will be announced at halftime.

7:30 pm  – The llth Hour -Ilfeld Auditorium-Wind River Ranch 2009 Film Festival. 

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Absentee Voting – Office of Campus Life – – Must present valid HU ID.

 3:00 p.m. – Purple/White Games – Melody Park – Giant Twister, Horses & Riders, Giant Slip & Slide, Mummies, Pass the Water Balloon.

Glow: Campus wide scavenger hung in the dark.

All day – Paint the Town Purple

11:00 a.m.– Painting of the “H” (Meet in front of the Student Center at 10:45 am and a caravan will proceed to the H.)

3:00 p.m. – International Day – – Melody Park,  Arts & Crafts, Informational Booths about various cultures on campus, food samples, music.

5:00 p.m. –  H Club Banquet, Student Center Ballroom

7:00 p.m. – Homecoming Pageant,  Ilfeld Auditorium
 

8:00 – 9:30 a.m. – President’s Coffee, location 1325- 5th Street

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Royalty Voting (Senate Chambers, must present valid HU ID)
                                        Door Decorating Contest Judging

11:00 a.m. – Class of 1959 Luncheon, Plaza Hotel

11:00 am – 7 pm KEDP Radio – Reflections of Yesterday and Today – Come meet your fav DJ’s and grab a bite to eat.
 
11:30 a.m. – Foundation’s Annual Donor Luncheon, Kennedy Alumni Hall by special invitation

5:00 p.m – Distinguished Alumni Banquet at the Plaza Hotel on the Old Town Plaza - purchase tickets through Alumni Office.*

7:30 p.m. – Yesterday – Tribute to the Beatles –Ilfeld Auditorium.

8:00 p.m. – Baseball Social–Plaza Hotel.

Snake Dance & Bash ‘em Spirit Rally – from University Avenue to Wilson Complex Parking Lot.

8:00 a.m.  – Alumni Golf Tournament at the Gene Torres Golf Course*.

10:00 a.m. – Class of 1959 brunch at the Plaza Hotel on the Old Town Plaza - by special invitation*.

11:00 a.m. Baseball Alumni Game at  Brandt Field (the NMHU Baseball Field)

2:00 p.m. – Traditional homecoming parade – Lineup will begin by OLOS Church/Courthouse at 12 noon.  Winners will be announced at halftime. 

4:00 p.m. – Tailgating – Beginning at  in the music building parking lot.  First come-first served (no tables/chairs will be provided).

6:00 pm – Game – NMHU V. Adams State –  – Perkins Stadium – Ticket prices:  Adults - $7; 12 and under $3; NMHU faculty/staff/students with valid HU ID – FREE)
  
11:00 p.m. – 2:00  a.m. – Club HU – Homecoming Dance – Student Center Atrium –  Must have valid HU ID.
