NMHU Cowboy News Roundup – January 14, 2010
Reconnect with Highlands Online
Cowboys sports scores, concerts and your past friends from New Mexico University can now be found in one place: the Highlands Facebook page.
“Almost 1,000 fans are finding the Highlands Facebook page a great resource for caching up with old friends, networking and keeping in touch with their alma mater,” said Sean Weaver, director of university relations.
“The fan base for Highlands’ Facebook page is as diverse mix of people who all share the great experience that is Highlands University,” Weaver said. “We’re seeing alumni, faculty, current students and future students engaged in conversation on the site.”
The Facebook page can be reached by going to Highlands’ Web site,
www.nmhu.edu, then clicking on the Facebook icon.
“Facebook is a great place to get all the Cowboys' and Cowgirls' scores first,” said Gavino Archuleta, Highlands’ associate athletic director. “Highlands’ Facebook fans are also the first to find out about special sports events and exclusive updates from the coaching staff.”
Weaver said the networking opportunities from Highlands’ Facebook page are unprecedented.
“In addition to alumni reconnecting with other alumni, current students can connect with alumni in their majors for experienced advice, or potential students can connect with current students and alumni to hear about their experience at Highlands,” Weaver said. “The Facebook page is a conversation that our fans help shape. It’s pretty amazing.”
