Dr. Harold Bailey, executive director of the New Mexico Office of African American Affairs, speaks at New Mexico Highlands University, Feb. 18, as part of Black History Month. Bailey is a past faculty member and director of the University of New Mexico’s Afro-American Studies Program. Bailey is well known for his distinguished leadership, having served as a member of the New Mexico Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, past state chairman of the New Mexico Black Studies Consortium, board of the National Council of Black Studies, and more.
