Academic Year

• September through May, participants meet twice a month for a total of 18 sessions per academic year.  Schedule to be provided.


• Sessions are held on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Morning session is dedicated to Math, Literature, Writing Composition, Laboratory Sciences and Spanish.  All classes are taught by NM certified Teachers. 


• The afternoon session is reserved for a social/cultural and recreational activity.  • NMHU juniors and seniors are hired to mentor and tutor students in the classroom. 


• Transportation for students living outside of Las Vegas is provided.  Students from Coronado,     Escalante and To’Hajiilee are bused to the University on Friday evening.  The remaining schools are bused in on Saturday morning, the day of the session.  


• School credit may be earned as per each individual school. (Upward Bound does not grant school credit)
