Upward Bound
The Upward Bound Program is an educational program funded through the United States Department of Education for the enhancement of the education of under privileged students. The program provides academic development in the areas of Mathematics, Writing Composition, Literature, Laboratory Science and a Foreign Language.
The Upward Bound Programs goals are to:
- Motivate Upward Bound Students to complete high school.
- Prepare them for enrollment in a post-secondary educational program.
The Upward Bound Program will assist its participants in the mechanics of completing the admission forms to the schools of their choice as well as providing assistance in completing all financial aid forms and scholarship applications.The Upward Bound Program serves 12 target area high schools. There are 150 students from grades 9th through 12th that participate. Recruitment for the program is an ongoing process.
