Undergraduate Computer Science
New Mexico Highlands offers an undergraduate degree in computer science with three areas of concentration: software/hardware systems, information systems, and an individualized program of study. Our program features a rigorous curriculum to ensure students graduate with the skills needed for a rewarding and successful career.

Undergraduate Computer Science
New Mexico Highlands University’s outstanding mathematics bachelor’s degree program provides an in-depth curriculum designed to accommodate a variety of interests in the field. Special tracks are available to students entering the teaching field.

Students who earn a degree in computer science can look forward to a variety of rewarding career choices including information systems management, network administration, systems design, programming, database administration and more.

Graduate Computer Science
The Department of Computer Sciences offers graduate courses in computer science. In addition, a joint media arts and computer science degree is offered by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Communication and Fine Arts.
The Department of Computer Science trains students in the fields of computer science. By encouraging and developing problem-solving, critical/analytical thinking, and practical, laboratory-based skills, our students are well prepared for careers in any combination of these fields, either via solid preparation for further graduate education or immediate entrance into the workforce (industry, teaching, and national labs).

Requirements:

  • Statement of educational goals
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Transcripts from all previously attended regionally accredited institutions (3.0 GPA or higher)
  • Will consider those who do not meet the GPA requirement.
