Employers & Agencies
The Career Services Office at New Mexico Highlands University looks forward to assisting employers with their staffing needs. In your search for exceptional new hires, you will find NMHU candidates have both a strong academic background and practical preparation for the professional world. Highlands graduates approximately 500 candidates annually in disciplines including management, marketing, accounting, finance, computer science, communication, health care administration, science, math, education and the liberal arts. Many of our students have strengthened their coursework by completing internships and co-op's in their chosen field.
The New Mexico Highlands University Career Services Program for Cooperative Education & Internships Program links employers who wish to recruit university students for cooperative education (co-op) positions, and internships with the students who seek these opportunities. These undergraduate employment programs often give employers early access to top candidates for full time positions.
Job Fairs continue to be an effective means for linking graduating college students with potential employers. For companies, it is a tremendous means of sampling the talent that is soon to be available to them. For students, it is a great way to learn of new opportunities, and to network. When it comes to building a career, looking for a job or building a business, ultimately the issue of "networking" comes up. The NMHU Career & Placement Services Office sponsors a Career Expo and the Educators Job Fair each year to give students the opportunity to network and interact with employers. |
