Faculty & Staff

The Office of Career Services looks forward to establishing a strong working relationship with faculty/staff. Through a shared commitment candidates can develop professionally and acquire personal success. Our role includes providing your students with a keen awareness of career development programs, career-related experiences, and associated job search services that will complement the academic preparation you afforded to each and every student in your courses.
Academic advising is an ongoing educational process that connects the student to the University. Academic advising supports the University's mission of preparing the student for learning beyond the confines of the academy. Academic advisors represent and interpret University policies and procedures to the student and help the student navigate the academic and organizational paths of the institution.

Job Fairs continue to be an effective means for linking graduating college students with potential employers. For companies, it is a tremendous means of sampling the talent that is soon to be available to them. For students, it is a great way to learn of new opportunities, and to network. When it comes to building a career, looking for a job or building a business, ultimately the issue of "networking" comes up. A common method in networking is informational interviewing. The NMHU Career & Placement Services Office sponsors a Career Expo and the Educator's Job Fair each year to give students the opportunity to network and interact with employers, find part/full-time employment, co-ops and/or internships.

We need your help in order to accomplish this successfully, and we ask that you provide us with your ideas and constructive feedback on the comprehensiveness and usefulness of our web site.
