Psi Chi - New Mexico Highlands University Chapter

The New Mexico Highlands University Chapter was chartered in March, 1948. The New Mexico Highlands University Chapter of Psi Chi became the first chapter to be established in the state of New Mexico and the 50th in the nation.

Since that time, the New Mexico Highlands University Chapter of Psi Chi has been involved with many philanthropic opportunities and developments.

Recognition
Psi Chi provides national recognition for academic excellence in psychology, an honor which can be noted on employment applications, curriculum vitae, and resumes. Also, as part of the lifetime membership, members receive certificates and cards and are eligible to wear honor cords, medallions, and stoles at graduation.

Conference Programs
Psi Chi, even our local chapter, sponsors outstanding programs at regional and national psychological association meetings. Members benefit not only from the programs, but also from the opportunity to meet and network with leading psychologists and students from other campuses. In recent years, our chapter has sponsored individuals to attend the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association Regional Conference and hope to sponsor more individuals to attend other conferences throughout the country.

Other Activities
Our chapter of Psi Chi also sponsors many other activities on campus and beyond. We have sponsored everything from guest speakers to community service projects as well as fun activities like dances and holiday activities.
