Faculty and Staff Recognized at Awards Ceremony

Jennifer Lindline, above left, a Highlands geology professor and Natural Resources Management Department chair, was tapped for the Outstanding Performance Award at the 17th Annual Employee Recognition Awards Ceremony breakfast April 13. Highlands President Sam Minner, right, presented the award. Ken Bentson, natural resources management professor and past interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, was named for the Outstanding Service Award. Bentson, who joined the faculty in 1990, was also honored as a 2016 retiree. Minner established a new award this year called the President’s Service Award and named Darlene Chavez, below left, as the first recipient. Chavez joined Highlands in 1991 and retired in March from her position as the development finance officer for the Highlands Foundation.
