Financial Literacy Workshop at West Las Vegas High March 21

The New Mexico Highlands Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will give West Las Vegas High School students tools to help navigate ways to finance college at a March 21 workshop at the school.

The workshop, “Paying for College: Financial Literacy and FAFSA,” will be in the Career Lab at the high school from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“This workshop and others like it are part of our community outreach efforts,” said Susan Chavez, financial aid director at Highlands. “We’re very committed to assisting students and parents with financial literacy that helps them understand all the costs of college, and how to budget and be prepared to pursue their future in higher education.”

Highlands Financial Aid staff will also help students complete their FAFSA applications at the workshop. FAFSA is the free application for federal student aid. FAFSA is required for students seeking financial aid.
