Free Isotopes Game July 7 for HU Alumni

Las Vegas, N.M. –  July 7 is a free day for Highlands Alumni at the Isotopes baseball game in Albuquerque at 6:35 p.m. when the team takes on the Tacoma Rainiers.

Faculty, students and staff from the Highlands Rio Rancho Center are also invited to the game at Isotopes Park at 1601 Avenida Cesar Chavez Blvd. S.E.

“People just love the family-friendly atmosphere at baseball games and this will be a chance for the Highlands family to enjoy a night at the ballpark,” said Juli Salman, Alumni Affairs director. “An added attraction is that July 7 is the Albuquerque Dukes Retro Night, the team’s original name, and there will be free giveaways. There will also be fireworks after the game.”

The Highlands Alumni Office will host a free picnic for its alumni and the university’s Rio Rancho family at Isotopes Park at 5:30 p.m.

“The Isotopes game was a really popular event last year, so we decided to do it again,” Salman said.

Highlands University President Sam Minner will throw out the first pitch of the game.

The Isotopes are a minor league baseball team affiliated with the Colorado Rockies.

Alumni need to call in advance to reserve the free Isotopes tickets at  505-454-3248, or email to lylamaestas@nmhu.edu. Tickets are limited to two per reservation, while supplies last. Highlands Rio Rancho students, staff and faculty may get advance tickets at the Rio Rancho Center at 1700 Grande Blvd., Suite 100. The phone number is 505-891-6900.
