The New Mexico Normal School’s 1927 junior high school class poses for a portrait.

Las Vegas, N.M. – New Mexico Highlands presents the Highlands Heritage Exhibition with a  public opening reception Aug. 9 from 4 – 7 p.m.

The exhibition is in the Kennedy Alumni Hall at 905 University Ave. and is part of Heritage Week in Las Vegas.

“The exhibit includes archival photos from the Donnelly Library collection as well as vintage Highlands yearbooks,” said Renee Buchanan, the Highlands Foundation art curator and archivist. “This exhibit celebrates 125 years of Highlands history spanning from its origins in 1893 as the New Mexico Normal School to the present day.”

Buchanan said the photographs illustrate the vibrant student life and university traditions over the years.
