It also attempts to explore the given perception of an object and its given context and also the often strong symbolic nature of the “everyday” objectMy concepts are also concerned with aspects of cultural assocation, individualism, and nostalgic association.
As mentioned I often cast everyday objects that may possess a strong but mundane cultural/symbolic significance (e.g. matchboxes, balls of string and twine, cardboard boxes, etc.) and I am often pleased at the subsequent destructive results given to the objects via the casting processes.
More recently the emphasis of my work has been on exploring the ever changing role of the contemporary artist and his/her relationships with their given materials/technologies and products.
Previous to this my work was concerned with industrial archaeology and redundant industries. |
