Resume Webinar Trainings For Students In January

The Office of Career Services has scheduled free webinar training sessions in January to help Highlands University students learn how to use a new resume software called Optimal Resume.
The sessions will be Jan. 7 from 7 – 8 p.m.; Jan. 13, from 4 – 5 p.m.; Jan. 15 from 1 – 2 p.m.; Jan. 19 from 2 – 3 p.m.; and Jan. 20 from 7 – 8 p.m.
“The training will provide you with a great starting point if you’ve never written a resume before,” said Ron Garcia, director for the Office of Career Services. “The training is also beneficial for students with professional experience who are targeting specific career or employment objectives.”
Garcia said that Optimal Resume is easy to use and provides comprehensive resume instructions, section-by-section examples, and thousands of resume samples and styles to choose from.
He said that developing a resume through Optimal Resume helps elevate students’ job networking efforts in this super competitive job market.  Students can also use their new resumes to apply for summer internships.
“Once you’ve created your resume you can upload it into the Resume GPS program that enables employers to find your resume online, and contact you about employment opportunities,” Garcia said.
If you have a pc, you will need either Windows 2000, XP Home, XPPro, 2003 Server or Vista.
If you have a Macintosh, you will need Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or a newer version.
