President Minner Moves to Communications East Building

Las Vegas, N.M. – New Mexico Highlands University President Sam Minner’s office is now in the Communications East Building at 901 University Ave.

Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Roxanne Gonzales and the Academic Affairs Office as well as Vice President of Finance and Administration Max Baca and the Finance and Administration Office also moved to the Communications East Building to make way for the historic Rodgers Hall renovation slated to begin in late July.

“The Rodgers Hall renovation will take approximately 10 months,” said Sylvia Baca, Highlands facilities and planning director. “After that, the executive offices will be moved back to Rodgers Hall.”

She said the university is working with the New Mexico State Historic Preservation Office to determine how historic elements of Rodgers Hall will be preserved.

The university’s Communications East building is attached to the Communications West Building, across the street from the university’s historic Ilfeld Auditorium.

Highlands University offices currently housed in the Communications West Building include the Business Office, Human Resources Office, Ilfeld Auditorium Office, University Relations Office, and KEDP 91.1 FM radio station.
