FACULTY, WELCOME TO THE ONLINE ENVIRONMENT FOR BLACKBOARD & ELLUMINATE LIVE

BLACKBOARD
Blackboard allows you to create an online learning environment for your students. In this environment you can post your syllabus, lecture notes, PowerPoint presentations, and so much more. Additionally, you can communicate with your students using synchronous (chat, Who’s Online) and asynchronous communication (announcements, discussions, and mail) methods. You can also manage an online grade book and track student activities.

In order to get started with Blackboard, you will need:
·         A computer with internet access.
·         A supported and properly configured browser. To view supported browsers and configurations go to http://www.webct.com/tuneup.
        ·         Your NMHU faculty/staff username and password. If you don’t already have a username and/or password, you can obtain the online application by Clicking  here, completing the form, and e-mailing it to Information Technology Services for processing.

To login to Blackboard, navigate to the www.nmhu.edu homepage:
·         Click on Blackboard.
·         Click on Login to Blackboard.
·         Click on Login and enter your username and password.

If this is your first time using Blackboard and/or teaching via this medium, contact Charlene Ortiz-Cordova, Technology Trainer at (505) 426-2249 or (877) 248-9854 Ext. 2249 or via e-mail at cmcordova@nmhu.edu to schedule training.  We strongly encourage you to review the following Faculty Resources.  These resources are continuously updated.

If you teach or enhance your course with Blackboard, it’s important to make your course content/materials available to students at least two weeks prior to the start of your class.
