Dual Credit Opportunities

The Dual Credit program is an option available to juniors and seniors at the Raton Public High School, Maxwell Municipal Schools, Springer Municipal Schools, Roy Municipal Schools and Cimarron Municipal Schools.  Dual credit is a program that allows high school students to enroll in 100- and 200-level college courses prior to high school graduation, giving them enrichment opportunities and first-hand experience with the requirements of college work.  New Mexico Highlands University waives the tuition and general fees for students participating in this program. To qualify to participate in this program, students must be either high school juniors or seniors, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 as a junior or 2.0 as a senior, submit an official high school transcript, ACT or COMPASS scores, and complete the necessary forms with required signatures from the parents or guardians, their high school, and the Highlands dual credit coordinator.  For more information, please contact the Raton staff at 575.445.0445, or main campus staff at 505.426.2058.
