Associate professor Miriam LangerÂ graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in English and fine arts.Â She received an M.F.A. from New York University Tisch School of the Arts from the Interactive Telecommunications Program, where she focused on interaction design and physical computing. She worked as a web developer in New York City and Santa Fe, where she was involved in creating the first websites for museums and cultural institutions such as The Santa Fe Opera, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, The Heard Museum of the American Indian, The Dallas Foundation, among others. She has been at Highlands University since 2001. She spent her 2009 sabbatical as a guest lecturer at the Italian University of Switzerland in Lugano, and at the University of Siena (Italy) program in interaction design.Â Miriam presents annually at the international Museums and the Web conference, serves on the planning board for the Museum Computer Network, and is a juror for the American Association of Museums MUSE awards.
Sean McCracken is a mobile game developer who specializes in real-time 3D and augmented reality.Â Â His first mobile game, Hamsteria, is a top hit in Japan on the Apple Store where it’s been in the top 100 for months and is still in the top 500 to this day.Â Â Hamsteria also received critical praise from Kotaku, The Wall Street Journal, Gizmodo and G4TV.Â Â He’s also made several games professionally for companies including AT&T, Kraft, and Puma/Cobra Golf.Â Â He’s currently working on two new games and a complete revamp of Hamsteria.
Jonathan Lee is a visiting professor in the Software-Driven Systems Design Program. He holds a B.S. in computer science from the University of North Texas and an M.A. in media arts computer science from Highlands University.Â He specializes in mobile app development and web languages.Â He has been making iPhone apps for two years, after four years in Flash programming. He has developedÂ interactive projects for Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Rio Grande Community Farms, GorillaSpot, and the Santa Fe Institute.
