New Mexico Highlands students Zach Tapia, right, and DiAmaal Holmes, left, carry the banner and lead the way for the university’s Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event April 24 to mark Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Tapia, a media arts sophomore, and Holmes, an exercise and sport sciences junior, were part of a large contingent of the university’s football team that participated in the well-attended walk. The university’s Campus Violence Prevention Program organized the Walk a Mile In Her Shoes event, which is a worldwide movement aimed at stopping rape, sexual assault, and gender violence.
