If I have already taken beginning Spanish courses (101, 102, 201), can I now take classes in heritage?

If you have already taken a Spanish 101 course at Highlands and consider Spanish your heritage language, the next Spanish course you should take should be Spanish 112. If you have already taken Spanish 102 and consider Spanish your heritage language, the next course you should take should be Spanish 211. If you have already taken Spanish 201 and you consider Spanish your heritage language, you should enroll in Spanish 212.

If I have never taken a Spanish course at Highlands, should I enroll in Spanish 111,112,211, or 212?

The best way to determine which class is best suited to your needs is to take the Spanish as a heritage language placement evaluation. The placement evaluation will tell us what skills you already have and what you need to improve. You will be placed at the course level that meets your personal needs. This placement evaluation is mandatory for all students enrolling in the Spanish as a heritage language courses.
