A Reading and Discussion series
Join us @ Donnelly Library for a reading and discussion series led by local scholar Brandon Kempner. Let's Talk About It: Muslim Journeys will feature lively discussion of five books relating to the theme, Literary Reflections.

All discussion will begin at 7 p.m. in Donnelly Library at 802 National Ave. Copies of the books are available from Donnelly Library. Brandon Kempner, associate professor of English at Highlands University, will lead a discussion of the book at each session.

Koran by Heart: A Film Screening and DiscussionThursday, November 14, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.: Dr. Amal Alhosban, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, at Highlands University and Dr. Eric Winkel will lead a film screening and discussion of the HBO documentary Koran by Heart: One Chance to Remember. NMHU International Students will answer questions and help facilitate discussion after the screening. This program will take place in the Student Union Building Theater. This event is free and open to the public. This program is co-sponsored by the NMHU International Club. Word as ArtThursday, October 24th at 7:00 p.m.: Ester OFearghail , Assistant Professor of Art History at Highlands University, will give a lecture and lead a film screening and discussion of the calligraphy section of the documentary Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World. This program will take place in Donnelly Library, room 141. This program is free and open to the public. The program was provided by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York. Additional support for the arts and media components was provided by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art. Homecoming @ Thomas C. Donnelly LibraryOctober 14-18 Raffle: Grand prize is a Kindle Fire with case, donated by our journal vendor, W.T. Cox. Runner-up prizes are an NMHU Pen and certificate for a book or document repair. Raffle tickets will be sold all week. $5 each, or 3 for $10. Friday Events Used Book Sale from 9:00 to 4:00 Special Collections Tour at 2:00 (meet in the lobby) Raffle Drawing at 3:00 Saturday Events Pottery by Paul Volckening: An Exhibition to Benefit Habitat for Humanity.
