Reading Group at Donnelly Library: Beyond Gettysburg: The Wars within the War New Mexico Highlands University’s Donnelly Library will build on the success of previous years’ literature reading groups by launching a history reading group during the spring 2012 semester. The Beyond Gettysburg reading group will shift the focus of Civil War history away from famous battlefields to the struggles of various Americans as their lives are transformed by the challenge of a prolonged sectional conflict. All discussions will begin at 7 p.m. in the Despertarse Café on the first floor of the Donnelly Library, at 802 National Ave. For more information, and to register for the reading program, stop by the library or email ajkent@nmhu.edu. The program is free and open to the public. |
