	Historical Records Preservation Workshop Thursday, March 8th, 9:00 a.m – 4:00 p.m., Kennedy Hall The New Mexico Highlands University Office of Research & Sponsored Projects and Thomas C. Donnelly Library are sponsoring “Preserving Your Historical Records: An Archival Holdings Maintenance Workshop.” This workshop is free for NMHU Faculty, staff and students with ID. 	Reading Group at Donnelly Library: Beyond Gettysburg: The Wars within the War New Mexico Highlands University’s Donnelly Library will build on the success of previous years’ literature reading groups by launching a history reading group during the spring 2012 semester. The Beyond Gettysburg reading group will shift the focus of Civil War history away from famous battlefields to the struggles of various Americans as their lives are transformed by the challenge of a prolonged sectional conflict. All discussions will begin at 7 p.m. in the Despertarse Café on the first floor of the Donnelly Library, at 802 National Ave. For more information, and to register for the reading program, stop by the library or email ajkent@nmhu.edu. The program is free and open to the public.

Library Exhibits
			Women’s History Month Created and installed by Dr. Kristie Ross and her Women in the United States class this display celebrates and honors the women who have inspired and encouraged the students with their lives and examples. It contains profiles of women from various backgrounds including personal stories and public figures. Dr. Kristie Ross and Dr. Erika Derkas also donated the wedding gowns of their grandmothers as center pieces to this wonderful exhibit.
		Past Exhibits	Black History Month The Black History Month exhibit explores some of the history of African American people in American history and culture. Learn about African American firsts and some of the notable Black people in American history, literature, and art.
		February
		November	Embracing Our Heritage This exhibit features pictures, artifacts, and books that illustrate and celebrate Mexican and New Mexican heritage. It was designed and installed by professors Gabriela Moreno and René Baca from the Department of History, Political Science and Languages and Culture, and is located in the Thomas C. Donnelly Library foyer exhibit cases.
