The HLC 4-Year Visit will be February 28-March 1, 2022.

Timeline:

  • Spring 2022: participate in HLC ALO Academy: Dr. Tucker and April Kent
  • Fall 2021: NMHU HLC team presented information about the upcoming visit to the Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, and Board of Regents.
  • Fall 2021: on agenda of every board meeting
  • September 2021: HLC updates at every Executive Leadership Team meeting
  • August 2021: Series of HLC campus forums (update, Q&A)
  • May 2021: HLC Video Chronicles begin to inform campus of upcoming visit.
  • April 2021: A group of faculty and staff attended the annual HLC conference online.
  • Spring 2021: Create of five criteria team to prepare for the 4-year comprehensive visit.
  • January 29, 2021: University received formal notification that the IAC concurred with the HLC Focused Visit evaluation team’s findings and affirmed that the institution has demonstrated sufficient evidence that it has addressed the concerns related to Core Components 4.C, 5.A, and 5.D.
  • January 2021: Designate dedicated HLC Director, Dr. Keith Tucker, and Head Librarian, April Kent, as HLC team
  • October 5-6, 2020: rescheduled date for HLC Focused Visit
  • September 24, 2020: Fall campus-wide HLC Forum scheduled to prepare campus community for the Focused Visit
  • September 2020: Campus community works with HLC Visiting Team to work out details of remote Focused Visit
  • March 30-31, 2020: HLC Focused Visit originally scheduled to take place; postponed as a result of COVID-19 pandemic
  • Late fall 2019: Editing and final writing of evidence document
  • Fall 2019: Campus hosted three more HLC forums, each focusing on one of the three areas of HLC concern

    • September 23, 2019: Campus Forum 5A (Finance)
    • November 18, 2019: Campus Forum 5D (Strategic Planning and Institutional Improvement)

  • Spring 2019: Campus hosted three HLC forums, each focusing on one of the three areas of HLC concern

  • October 30, 2018: HLC Forum presents overview of preparation process for Focused Visit to campus community
  • Fall 2018: Three sub-committees formed to address the three areas of concern specified by the HLC
  • September 2018: HLC Steering Committee formed, consisting of both faculty and staff, to oversee preparation process for the Focused Visit
  • July 9, 2018: HU removed from probationary status by HLC, but with the requirement that HU will host a Focused Visit in 2019-20 to address three areas of continuing concern
