Here is a checklist for what you need to do as an international student to apply to New Mexico Highlands University. Upon request, our International Education Center will mail you a detailed information packet.

• Admissions
First you apply for admissions to Highlands University.

• Transcripts
You need to provide official academic transcripts, whether you are an undergraduate or graduate student. Graduate students also need to provide degree information.

• English Proficiency
You need to provide proof of your English language proficiency by providing your test scores from TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System), or other allowed tests. Our Highlands University catalogue has more information link.

• Financial Resources
You need to complete the financial certificate, which is included in the admissions packet you will receive. You also need to provide proof of financial resources, usually a bank statement, to show how you will fund your first year of study at Highlands. 

• Student Visas
After you are admitted to Highlands, you need to apply for a student visa. Highlands will provide you with detailed information about how to apply for your student visa. Depending on your country, this can take several months.
