Placement testing
Placement testing is available for all accepted incoming students. Reservations may be made by calling 505-454-3188 or emailing studentsuccess@nmhu.edu.
Accuplacer exam
New Mexico Highlands University is excited to offer our incoming and/or current students the opportunity to take their Accuplacer assessment online utilizing the Proctortrack system.
Students interested in taking their Accuplacer need to contact studentsuccess@nmhu.edu. They will be sent information to assure they have the technical requirements and can meet the specification of the Proctortrack proctor services. The requirements and conditions of testing can be found on the Accuplacer web page.
Once the requirements are verified by the student, the student will be sent a voucher to set up their assessment.
The student must be admitted to NMHU and have been issued a NMHU student ID number.
After completion of their assessment, it may take up to 24-72 hours for Student Success to receive the report from Proctortrack and contact the student to set up a schedule, but we will strive to contact student the same day assessment is completed.
New Mexico HiSET® Requirements
New Mexico Highlands University is committed to serving our students and community. Currently, HISET® testing at NMHU is suspended until further notice, but a new option is available — you can now schedule and take a HISET® exam from your home!
