2010 Winterfest Features Blue Oyster Cult

Winterfest 2010 at New Mexico Highlands University brings Blue Oyster Cult center stage Sat., Feb. 13, 8 p.m., at Ilfeld Auditorium, 900 University Ave.
 
“Blue Oyster Cult’s style of hard rock and heavy metal has been thrilling fans worldwide since its debut album in 1972,” said Donna Martinez, manager for Ilfeld Auditorium and Highlands University’s campus radio station, KEDP 91.1 FM. “Blue Oyster Cult’s music is legendary, and it’s one of very few bands of this genre to earn mainstream critical acclaim and commercial success.”
 
Some of the bands’ best known songs include Burnin’ for You, (Don’t Fear) the Reaper, Godzilla and Cities on Flame With Rock and Roll.
 
Since its debut, the Long Island, NY, band has sold more than 14 million albums worldwide, including seven million in the United States. The band continues to tour nationwide and released its Curse of the Hidden Mirror album in 2001.
 
Martinez said that Valentine’s Day sweetheart packages are available for dinner, premier concert tickets, and lodging in historic Las Vegas. For the concert alone, ticket prices for reserved seating is $30/35, and general seating is $25.
