Checklist for International Students

Below is a checklist of what is needed for International Students to apply to New Mexico Highlands University. 

  • Admissions

Apply for admission to New Mexico Highlands University. 

  • Transcripts

Whether you are an undergraduate or graduate applicant, you must provide official academic transcripts. If you are a graduate applicant or undergraduate transfer, you will need to submit an official transcript evaluation. 

  • English Proficiency

Per the university catalog, proof of English language proficiency is required. You must submit TOEFL (Test of English as  Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System), or other allowed tests.

  • Financial Resources

Upon receiving acceptance, a link to the financial certification form will be sent to you. This must be completed and returned to the International Education Center along with proof of financial resources (bank statement). 

  • Student Visas

Once you have been admitted and financial certification has been received, New Mexico Highlands University will provide you with additional information about applying for your student visa. Please note, depending on your country of residence, this can take several months.
