Below is a preliminary timeline for various activities relating to our preparation for the HLC Focused Visit on March 30-31, 2020. This timeline will be updated periodically. Current update is dated 3/20/2019.

Focused Visit Timeline:

  • July 9, 2018: HU removed from probationary status by HLC, but with the requirement that HU will host a Focused Visit in 2019-20 to address three areas of continuing concern
  • September 2018: HLC Steering Committee formed, consisting of both faculty and staff, to oversee preparation process for the Focused Visit
  • Fall 2018: Three sub-committees formed to address the three areas of concern specified by the HLC
  • October 30, 2018: HLC Forum presents overview of preparation process for Focused Visit to campus community
  • Spring 2019: HLC Steering Committee and sub-committees will continue to meet in preparation for Focused Visit
  • Spring 2019: Campus will host three HLC forums, each focusing on one of the three areas of HLC concern
    • February 25, 2019: Campus Forum 4C (Enrollment Management)
    • March 25, 2019: Campus Forum 5A (Finance)
    • April 22, 2019: Campus Forum 5D (Strategic Planning and Institutional Improvement)
  • April 2019: A group of faculty and staff will attend the annual HLC conference in Chicago
  • May 2019: First draft of evidence document will be released (the final version of this document will be submitted to HLC in preparation for the Focused Visit)
  • August 2019: Second draft of evidence document will be released and submitted to the Executive Management Team and Board of Regents for review
  • Fall 2019: Editing and final writing of evidence document
  • December 2019: Evidence document will be submitted to University Relations for professional finish and conversion to pdf format
  • January 2020: Evidence document will be submitted to HLC in preparation for the Focused Visit
  • February-March 2020: Detailed plans will be laid out for hosting Focused Visit
  • March 30-31, 2020: HLC Focused Visit will take place
