Charise Romero, right, and Mariah Fischer-Corn talk Aug. 21 at Fall Convocation 2018, a ceremony which welcomes freshmen and transfer students to the Highlands family. Romero is a criminal justice major from Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Fischer-Corn is a history and secondary education major from Albuquerque. The convocation ceremony is organized by the university’s Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Academic Support, Dean of Students Office, and Office of Academic Enrichment and Retention. Fall semester begins at Highlands Aug. 22.
