Ehling to step down as Athletic Director in March

Andrew Ehling will conclude his term as athletic director on March 17. He leaves Highlands University in order to attend to personal responsibilities closer to family. HU Athletics will be led by interim leadership until a new athletic director is named.

Andrew said he is grateful for the opportunit​​y President Minner gave him three years ago and that “Highlands is an amazing community filled with great people. I’m very thankful for those who have provided personal effort and resources for the common good of Highlands. I look forward to following the progress of Highlands, and I truly believe there are great days ahead.”

During his tenure as Athletic Director, t​​he department GPA improved to 2.97 and retention improved 13%. He also oversaw facility upgrades in Wilson with new video boards, bleachers, and floor redesign and the current renovation of space in Stu Clark for the new Student Athlete Success Center.

President Minner said, “Andrew capably led and managed our athletic program during the most difficult period imaginable. I sincerely thank him for his work at HU and wish him nothing but the best as he enters the next phase of his life. I also thank his wife for her efforts as a faculty member.”
