What security responsibilities are assumed when receiving institutional data?
All information produced by OIER IS confidential and protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
It is the responsibility of the requesting party to understand and agree to these protections prior to submitting any request.

Confidentiality
Most of these data are owned by other offices and contain highly confidential and sensitive information. There is considerable time and effort involved in preparing datasets for external analysis.
Timelines
The information requested may take from a few days to several weeks to complete, depending on the complexity of the request, the availability of information, and the workload of the OIER staff at the time of the request.
It is best to provide as much notice as possible when submitting a request. If needed, someone from our office will contact you to discuss your request in more detail. Please note that data requests that are an institutional priority may delay your request.
