Degrees Offered

Visual Arts

New Mexico Highlands University’s Art Department offers several degrees to help launch your creative career. Undergraduates can pursue a bachelor of arts degree, a bachelor of fine arts degree, or an interdisciplinary B.F.A. in fine arts and media arts.

Music Program

New Mexico Highlands’ music program is designed to accommodate students who have a solid background in music and students who are new to the field. The program awards bachelor of fine art degrees in vocal performance, composition and music technology and composition. The program also offers a B.A. in general music and a concentration in music education.

If you want to be a part of the audio production industry, our music technology school is the place to be. Our recording studio is the place to get the hands-on experience you need to launch an exiting career. Using Avid Pro Tools HD – the industry standard in professional recording studios – our students also learn to use iZotope, Brainworx, Flux, SoundToys, Melodyne, and many other fun and creative plugins.

Our music degrees are cutting-edge because they center around music technology, but are also traditional because our students also study music. Too many new music tech schools skip the study music, but not Highlands. Our environment supports students on the road to becoming musicians. Highlands is an audio school for musicians.
