The Language Learning Center at NMHU offers tutoring services in Spanish and American Sign Language to supplement the language learning outside of the classroom. Throughout the semester, tutors host “charlas” (conversation sessions) for those who want to exercise and improve their communication skills in Spanish or ASL. Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment with the tutors by calling us at 505-454-3175, emailing us at llc@nmhu.edu, walking in at Douglas Hall 105.
Aside from our tutoring services, the LLC houses many language learning resources including books and films in and about ASL, Spanish, French, German, Italian and other languages. Students interested in enhancing their linguistic knowledge should visit the center and take advantage of the many services our center has to offer!
NMHU students interested in learning other languages have free access to Mango languages. You can take lessons from a wide variety of languages including languages like Cherokee, Potawatomi, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Tagalog, Farsi, Hindi, or Igbo.
