Nutcracker Ballet at Ilfeld Auditorium Dec. 5

 The State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara, Calif., will perform the Nutcracker ballet Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. in New Mexico Highland University’s Ilfeld Auditorium, 900 University Ave. 
Since it was first performed in 1892, this timeless holiday classic has delighted audiences worldwide. Set to the soaring music of legendary Russian composer Peter Tchaikovsky, the Nutcracker tells the Christmas Eve story of young Clara, who dreams of her nutcracker prince.  
The ballet features some of the best-known choreography and music in the history of ballet, including “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” and “Waltz of the Snowflakes.”
The State Street Ballet is an acclaimed ballet company with a stellar cast of dancers that tours throughout the United States as well as internationally.  
Tickets for the Nutcracker are sold out.
