Course description:Students are to be provided information and instruction in the following concepts and applications:
- Basic pharmacological principles including absorption, distribution, inactivation, and elimination
- Cellular mechanisms involved in drug action
- Knowledge of the major neurotransmitter and neuroendocrine systems

2. Psych 4/508 Drugs and Behavior (taught 17 times)
Course description: Provide the student with information regarding the following types of drugs:
- Prescription medications
- Over-the-counter drugs
- Licit and illicit recreational drugs
- Familiarize the student with the following:
- Physiological effects of drugs
- Neural mechanisms
- neuroanatomy

3. Psych 4/510 Physiological Psychology (taught 17 times)
Course description: Students will be introduced to the basic structures of the brain and taught the associations between structure and behavioral function. As well, students will be exposed to the fundamental, neurological, behavioral, and developmental aspects of neuropsychology. The course will also cover the mechanisms underlying the sensory and motors systems. The lab portion of the course will be devoted to a more concentrated study of neuroanatomy

1. Psych 301/302 Research Methods and Analysis (taught 4 times)
Course description: To introduce the students to the terminology, logic, and goals of statistics; teach the students to determine simple, relative, and cumulative frequency tables; Teach the students the relevance of the concept of statistical variability; to introduce the students to the use of z-scores and their relationship to the concept of central tendency; teach the students how to compute and interpret correlation coefficients and linear regression; introduce the students to the concept of probability and how it impacts the use of inferential statistics; introduce the concept of hypothesis testing; teach the students to analyze data using t-tests and ANOVAs; and review the concept of non-parametric testing.

2. Psych 602 Behavioral Research Methods (taught 6 times)
Course description: This course is designed for graduate level psychology students. There are several areas of concentration:
- Survey design
- Experimental research design
- Application of appropriate statistical analyses to each type of research design
- Interpretation of experimental results as reported in journals and other scholarly sources
- Critique of the research designs reported in the literature

I have a fully equipped biochemistry laboratory in Hewett Hall, New Mexico Highlands University. It has been in active use for 18 years, serving my research needs as well as those of other NMHU faculty members. In the lab is an Intoxilyzer 5000, which I am using for my current research of alcohol and aggression.
