Popovich Comedy Pet Theater

Las Vegas, N.M. — New Mexico Highlands University presents the world-famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater Nov. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the university’s historic Ilfeld Auditorium, 900 University Ave.

The Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is a perennial crowd pleaser featuring Gregory Popovich and his cast of jugglers, clowns, and talented pets — including dogs, house cats, geese, parrots and more.

The Popovich Comedy Pet Theater has toured more than 20 countries and is popular with audiences throughout the United States.

Popovich and his pets have performed on the Tonight Show with David Letterman, and have been featured in numerous publications such as The New Yorker, People magazine, and USA Today.

In 2009, St. Martin’s Press published Popovich’s book, You CAN Train Your Cat: Secrets of a Master Cat Trainer. Book sells to cat lovers remain brisk.

Popovich’s parents were the Russian circus performers Alex and Tamara Popovich, who were dog trainers and jugglers. From a young age, Popovich formed a special bond with animals. He performed onstage with his parent’s show dogs and by the time he was 17, was a member of the legendary Moscow Circus.

Tickets for the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater are $10 for general admission, and $7 for children 10 and younger and Highlands University students with ID.

Advance tickets are on sale at the Highlands University’s radio station, KEDP 91.1 FM, 901 University Ave., studio 103. Or call 505-454-3238.
