Quezada Comedy Show July 6 in Ilfeld

Steven Michael Quezada

Las Vegas, N.M — Renowned New Mexico comedian and actor Steven Michael Quezada presents a comedy show July 6 at 8 p.m. in New Mexico Highlands University’s historic Ilfeld Auditorium, 900 University Ave.

The comedy show also features popular Albuquerque-based comedians Curt Fletcher and Jose “Joser” Maestas, a Las Vegas native and Highlands University graduate.

“I’m going to bring some great New Mexico-based humor to this show,” Quezada said. “After touring so much nationally, I’m excited to be kicking off my New Mexico tour in Las Vegas. It will be a blast.

“I’ve known Curt Fletcher for eight years and he’s one of the hottest comics coming out of New Mexico now, and I’m glad to be working with him again in this show. Jose Maestas is an up-and-coming comedian and I try to help open the door for young talent. He’s opening the show,” Quezada said.

Quezada is one of the most accomplished comedians from the southwest and has toured comedy clubs across the nation since 1987. He has also appeared on HBO, Showtime, and the Latino comedy feature “Que Locos.”

In 2010, Quezada launched his own late-night talk show, The After After Party With Steven Michael Quezada, which airs after Saturday Night Live on NBC. The show also airs on the CW network, where it garnered a number-one ranking, and AskMilton, a global network.

Quezada is a five-time winner of the New Mexico Hispanic Entertainers Association Comedian of the Year Award.

He is also a veteran of New Mexico’s film industry and plays DEA agent Steven Gomez in the Emmy Award winning drama series Breaking Bad. Now starting its fifth season on AMC, the series is set and produced in Albuquerque.

Some of Quezada’s film credits include the action drama Blood Brothers, the drama Kites, and a new independent film Warrior Woman.

Quezada received international acclaim when his role in the short film Milagros earned him a nomination for best actor at the Tenerife International Film Festival in Spain.

Quezada is also a writer. He is the creator, producer and leading actor for the upcoming film drama Duke City, which will be filmed in Albuquerque.
