Assessment System Overview
The purpose of the Assessment System of the School of Education at New Mexico Highlands University is to collect, compile, analyze, and maintain information in an effort to monitor and improve candidate and program performance. Content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, professional knowledge, dispositions, and impact on P-12 student learning are all monitored through ongoing assessment to ensure that candidates meet expectations and are prepared for each stage of their program. Assessment data is analyzed and reviewed at the candidate, program and unit level to guide evaluation and improvement. The assessment system is designed to facilitate the execution of our vision, mission, and core values, standards for school professionals in New Mexico, and Specialized Professional Association standards of the respective programs.
